行政院長賴清德 14 日召開「我國薪資現況、低薪研究及其對策記者會」，行政院副院長施俊吉在報告時指出，提升薪資是政府的決心與目標，現行基本工資時薪為新台幣 140 元，「下一個目標是 150 元」。
為了提升觀光、百貨、服務業等服務業的從業人員與青年打工族的收入，政府考慮將現行的時薪 140 元往上調升。施俊吉指出，目前基本工資的時薪與月薪已脫鉤，目前最低基本工資月薪為 22,000 元，以每月工作 22 天、每天 8 小時計算，基本工資的時薪為 125 元；現行每小時的基本工資為 140 元，較 125 元高出 12％ 。
施俊吉表示，勞動部的施行細則將擬定配套措施，例如工作時數在一定時數以下，不可以按照月薪折算；而時薪工作超過某個時數以上，雇主必須支付勞健保，改以月薪僱用勞工，時薪調整幅度或按月計酬的門檻，政府將會商各界意見，取得共識。
勞動部次長施克和則說，時薪、月薪如何調整必須視基本工資審議委員會的研議結果。基本工資審議委員會預計今年第三季召開，結果出爐後會送交政院，最快明年初就可以替打工族加薪。
